Four Weeks Old & Getting My Groove!

Adaline is growing each and every day. She is now 8 lbs and finally fits into her newborn clothing. She loves to take naps and cuddle on mommy and daddy’s chests. Every moment her looks seem to change. I can see her cousin, Gabriel, in her looks, then she looks more like Brindy, then Alexsis, and then she looks just like Cory. We are interested to see how her looks change of the next couple of months and years to see who she really will look a lot like.

We are pretty lucky parents because Adaline is sleeping about 6 hours each night. I feed her between 10 and 11 pm and then she is out until around 5 am. Then she eats again and sleeps until about 9 am then we eat again. She then stays up for about 2 hours and then takes a little nap and then around 12 or 1 she is ready to eat again. Then I feed her around 4 pm and then again at 7 pm and then 10 or 11 pm again. We have been really lucky and are so grateful that she is such a great baby.

We have been having the fun new parent experience of leaky diapers. We learned the hard way that Huggy’s are the way to go at night and then we can have her wear the Walmart brand during the day. Aunt Vonda suggested that we try the larger size Walmart brand and see if that helps with the leaks so we are going to try that once we are done with this bag of diapers. The live and learn experiences of parenthood!

Cory loves being a daddy. Every night he comes home from work and gives me and Adaline a kiss hello. Then he loves to hold his little girl and talk with her. It is so cute to see the two of them together. She loves to be held by him and usually falls to sleep in his arms.

Adaline and I have been going for walks around the neighborhood and it is really nice to get the fresh air. I will have to get a picture of her in her stroller and post it. The walks are nice and usually about 1 hour. It is nice to be able get out of the house and get a little exercise.
