Incredible Sight of Provo Tabernacle Temple Renovations

 Provo Tabernacle Temple Renovations are underway and the church is making sure to sure as much of the land at their disposal to the ultimate level. The temple has been lifted onto at least 25 foot steel stilts and the ground around has been dug out for underground parking and for additional stories within the temple structure.

 It is an incredible sight to see. The original tabernacle is only the shell of its former glory but the plan is to full restore to the builds outside to match the original tabernacle. They have kept the four wooden spires that topped each of these columns you see in the top picture to be placed back once renovations as further along.

If you can see the thickness of the walls the original brick as been reinforced with cement and the wall are now close to 2 feet thick.

In the far right of this picture you see a dirt line stretching back into the back ground. When they were exevating the grounds under and beside the tabernacle, the foundation of an old church and caretakers home were found dating back to the original pioneers who settled this valley. You can still see parts of the church's foundations. That is the line you see on the right side of the picture.

If you look in this picture you can see one of the pieces of equipment that they are using in the project and it gives you an idea of the massive size of the stilts that the temple rests on.

 The whole works is a really wondered to see in person.

We understand that the goal of this project to get make a mini temple square right in the heart of Provo, UT. The parking for the structure will be below and the land over will be a massive garden for the whole community to enjoy.
