Cory and I went to see the Sunday morning production of the Music and the Spoken Word on Sunday. The choir and orchestra performed Christmas music that helped to kick on the beginning of the Christmas season. They sang “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”. This song was first heard on “Meet Me in Saint Lewis”, the movie with Judy Garland. The original lyrics were to be very depressing and almost mean in nature until the director asked the song writer to make it more sentimental and poignant, so now we have a wonderful holiday classic all brought about by a director, who was able to persuade a musician to have a message of hope!
After the concert, this was Cory’s first experience with Music and the Spoken Word. He love it and can’t wait for us to come back next Sunday!
On the drive home, the sun was so bright; Cory offered me a pair of aviator glasses to protect my eyes from the blazing sun. They were so big that Cory wanted to take a picture so I decided to stick my tongue out at him.
Then I had to get one of Cory doing the same thing.
